Gratitude
This is our site … a site for all of us.
As we have become more aware of our connection with food, we see how each of us plays an important role in what we eat, how it is cooked and how it is grown. You are either a farmer, a cook or an eater … or some combination of these roles. Together we can share what we have discovered so we can each take simple steps to fully enjoy good food in our lives — food that is grown in a sustainable and respectful way.
We are truly grateful for our farmers, who have chosen to grow and handle our food with care. One important way to show our gratitude and strengthen our community is by purchasing locally grown food, shopping at our farmers’ markets and getting to know our local farmers.
Thank you to James Beard Award-winning Seattle chef Tamara Murphy, for all you have taught us so far and all we have yet to learn from your experiences in the kitchen, at the market or on the farm. We will get to know many cooks who choose to use fresh, local food, and we’ll learn from them how to simplify our lives and have fun in the process.
As eaters, we are constantly discovering something new. Understanding this connection will make the eater in you change. Our conversation will allow us to enjoy our relationship with one another — one meal at a time.
This site belongs to all of us. We invite you to share what you have learned, so we all can grow and together build a healthier community.
