October: unprocessed
We met Andrew Wilder at this years’ International Food Blogger Conference www.foodista.com/ifbc2010/ — where we always meet the nicest people — creative, fun, enthusiastic and willing to share. After the conference, Andrew started October: Unprocessed www.eatingrules.com . It is all about eating only unprocessed food during the month of October. What a great idea! Count us in!
Both of us live very close to neighborhood farmers’ markets, so fortunately we have easy access to local farm-fresh food and have already discovered the joy and benefit to choosing and preparing food grown with such care. However, taking the ‘unprocessed pledge’ gave us the opportunity to check, re-check and check again, our pantries, refrigerators, and every other place food has been squirreled away, so we become truly aware of what we are eating.
We hope to find out for ourselves where old habits may still lurk — you know, the places where we may be making unconscious food choices. In this vibrant community forum, we are already discovering creative ideas for simple, healthy meals — ideas to help all of us break out of the rut of having the same ‘ol thing again this week.
It’s not too late to join in the fun. We know we are not just speaking for ourselves when we say — join us! We’d love to hear your ideas!
Here we go Day Four-
